Ottawa Gymnastics Centre is Seeking an Assistant Director

The Ottawa Gymnastics Centre (OGC) is looking for a full time Assistant Director, who, under the direction of the Executive Director, will primarily be responsible to assist in the overall management and leadership of the OGC.  This position will aid in the achievement of the OGC’s goals and objective in accordance with the strategic direction and policies of the OGC.


Established in 1960, the OGC is the oldest operating not-for-profit gymnastics organization in Canada.  The OGC has experienced tremendous growth since its modest beginnings, and is now the third largest gymnastics club in Ontario and one of the largest in Canada.  There are over 3,000 participants annually, from 6 months old to adulthood, who take part in a wide variety of recreational and competitive programs.  The OGC employs a highly passionate team of 90 full and part time employees to deliver programs that build foundations for sport and life.


The successful candidate will be responsible for leadership, operational, program, human resource, facility and financial management; communication; member and community relations.


This position will work in a dynamic environment with varying hours including evenings, weekend and holidays.  The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker that values team work, safety, fair and ethical behavior.


The Assistant Director will possess the following:


  • Degree or an advanced degree in not-for-profit management, sport management, recreation, communication, business or a related field
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Sport or Gymnastics experience is an asset but not required
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • A clear Criminal Record Check, including a vulnerable sector search
  • Complete or willingness to complete Respect in Sport training
