Ange Herrington Honored with Cam Namek Coach Excellence Award

Ange is currently the Head Coach and Technical Director with the Greater Napanee Gymnastics Club.  Ange is also a women’s artistic judge and chair of the women’s judging committee.

Ange is totally dedicated to running a successful, welcoming, community-based gymnastics program involving both recreational and competitive programming in Napanee.  In a relatively small gym facility, Ange is “the wizard of scheduling” so that every class gets it due time on every piece of equipment on every day/evening that classes are running.  She encourages parents to watch and listen to what is happening with their children on the gym floor at both recreation and competitive training.

Ange continues to update her knowledge base, attending either the Gymnastics Ontario or US Congress every year.  She has judged women’s artistic for many years and has continued to do so at both the national and international levels.

This past year, Ange has guided 19 competitive athletes to qualify for Provincial final competitions, with the following outcomes:  Aleyah Seale – Bronze, L6 Bars; Marley Lambert – Bronze, L4 Vault

Ange is always encouraging other coaches and suggesting how they may improve their professionalism and background qualification.  She is often called upon to be the course facilitator for WAG judging courses and has been the driving influence to get her own coaches to take judging courses.
