Kudos to Saltos Athletics for hosting a very successful training camp held in Perth on April 17 – 18th, 2015. Thanks to the hard work of Saltos coach, Louise Miller, and her many club volunteers, this well co-ordinated event provided great development experience for all athletes and coaches involved.
The 51 athletes in attendance who are currently training in World Age Group Aerobics programs were able to receive valuable feedback on their routines with a workshop focus on compulsory skills and Artistry components of their routines. As well, those athletes preparing for the ANAC International Aerobics Championship this July had the opportunity to be assessed by Brevet judges; Holly Abraham (CAN), Lynne Smiley (CAN)and Dale Duncan (USA).
Congratulations to the 22 aerobic gymnasts from Hamilton World Class Gymnastics and the Perth Saltos who will be representing Canada in San Diego in the Individual, Group and Aerodance events.
The most rewarding part of the training camp is due to the key workshop presenter, Dale Duncan. Dale has a Master’s Degree in Music and teaches choral music and musical theater in the public schools of Atlanta, Georgia. He is a former USA National Aerobics Champion in Trio and has been a coach/choreographer since 1992. He earned his judges Brevet in 2009 and just recently returned from judging the Suzuki World Cup in Tokyo a few weeks ago. Dale’s expertise and encouraging enthusiasm brings an energy that is motivating for all as Aerobic Gymnastics continues to grow and develop.
