2015 Pan American Games: Maegan Chant ties for 4th in Vault Finals

The first day of apparatus finals has ended, and Ellie Black (NS) completed her medal trifecta, winning bronze on the vault with a total score of 14.087! Maegan Chant (ON) tied for fourth with a total of 14.062, while Cuban Marcia Videaux Jimenez took gold with a total of 14.737.

In the finals for the uneven bars, Madison Copiak (AB) finished 7th with a total of 13.600 and Isabela Onyshko (MB) finished 8th with a total of 13.325.

 

It was a busy afternoon on the men’s side with Kevin Lytwyn (AB/ON) competing in both the floor and rings events where he finished 6th (14.675) and 7th (15.050) respectively. Jorge Vega Lopez from Guatemala captured gold on the floor exercise with a total of 15.150 while Arthur Zinetti of Brazil took gold in the rings with a total of 15.725. René Cournoyer (QC) competed in the pommel horse event where he finished 7th on the pommel horse with a score of 13.875. Calvo Moreno from Colombia took the gold with a total of 15.025.

 

The Pan Am Games artistic gymnastics competition wraps up tomorrow with the last of the apparatus finals. Black will compete on the beam along with Victoria-Kayen Woo(QC), and on the floor exercise. Lytwyn will be back to compete on the horizontal bar while Scott Morgan (BC) will compete on vault.

 

The competition gets started at 1:30 PM EST.
