Women’s Artistic Team Wins Silver!
GYMNASTICS CANADA – Sunday, July 12, 2015
Ellie Black, Maegan Chant, Madison Copiak, Isabela Onyshko, and Victoria-Kayen Woo captured the silver medal behind the United States last night at the Pan American Games with a total score of 166.500.
Black, who represented Canada at the 2012 London Olympics, finished sixth overall, thanks to fourth-place finishes in floor, vault, and balance beam. She, along with Onyshko, qualified for the all-around final taking place on Monday night starting at 6:50 PM EST.
“Coming to this competition is a good warm up for the world championships for us, so I think we’re just excited to come out here and compete in front of the home crowd and see what we can do,” said Black before the competition.
Black also qualified for the apparatus finals on Tuesday and Wednesday on vault, beam, and floor. Chant will also compete in the floor event, as will Woo on beam. Onyshko and Copiak qualified for finals on the uneven bars.
