2017 WAG Canadian Championships

Ontario had a fantastic showing this past week at the 2017 Canadian Championships, held at Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard, Montreal, Quebec, May 25-28, 2017.

 

The women’s artistic delegation consisted of 42 athletes and 34 coaches competing in JO 9 (11-13), JO 10 (12-15), JO 10 (16+) as well as high performance Novice, Junior and Senior categories.

 

The competition started with Level 9 team & qualification competition, which was followed by the Junior and Senior Individual qualification day.

 

The JO 9 (11-13) won bronze with a total of 107.257 and the Jo 10 (16+) team followed on  Saturday winning gold with a total of 111.361.

 

 

The week continued with All-Around and Event Finals competition in which many athletes achieved successes.

 

In the JO categories Dahlia Solorzano-Caruso (Galaxy) received a silver for the all-around competition for Level 10 (16+) with a score of 37.548 closely followed by Morgan Tong (Tristar) who won bronze with a score of 37.215.

 


Senior athlete, Jade Chrobok (Gemini) had a great competition in the Senior category winning bronze with a score of 53.100 behind Rose Kayen Woo (QC) and all around champion Ellie Black.

 

Ana Padurariu (Gemini) swept the podium winning all-around champion with a score of 55.267 and all four apparatus event finals  for the Junior category (read more on Ana here). Emma Spence (Dynamo) came in second in the All around Junior competition behind Ana with a score of 51.201.

 

In the novice category, Rachael Riley (Bluewater) won gold in the all around with a combined  score of 111.286 (day 1 and 2 combined).
