Adrian Tuen, Osborne Academy of Acrobatics, Receives Lil Babineau Club Builder Award

Adrian was first introduced to the sport of gymnastics ten years ago in an adult trampoline class.  Within a few short years, Adrian fell in love with this new sport community and became a recognizable individual with his level of involvement as a volunteer, judge, athlete and coach.

Adrian was instrumental in the formation of the Osborne Academy of Acrobatics Inc., in 2014.  He often reminisces of the exhausting startup of the gym.  He recalls the endless days of gluing old foam pieces together to stuff our first few end deck mats or picking up various trampoline parts from around the province to produce our first gym set-up.  His excitement and commitment to the club (and the sport) continued, creating a lot of our policies and procedures, managing our membership documentation, coaching and his well-known role at competitions as the “Fun Coordinator” when he was not the head scorer.

Since we opened in 2014, the club has hosted:

  • 2 Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships
  • 2 Trampoline and Tumbling Championships
  • Trampoline and Tumbling Elite Ontario
  • 3 First Cups
  • 2 Second Cups
  • Third Cup
  • 6 Invitational Competitions

Adrian has been there from set-up, to head scoring, to tear down for all events.

Adrian is always eager to help with facility projects like installing wall mats, setting up new apparatus, hanging banners, etc.

If Adrian is not assigned as a judge or a coach he often volunteers at competitions not hosted by OAA.

He has been an inspiration to many, competing Provincial 3 for the first time at age 35. Adrian also completed his NCCP Level 3 and is a certified trampoline judge.

OAA without Adrian does not seem complete.  He has volunteered a huge amount of time and energy into supporting the club and all its members, and we are grateful.

Congratulations !
