For the past thirty-six years Dawn has devoted her career, and her life, to the sport of gymnastics. A graduate of Seneca College Recreation and Management Program, throughout her career she has stayed true to her interest in recreation by supporting and advocating the principles of gymnastics for all.
Her career started with Gyros Gymnastics in 1978, where she was the recreation coordinator and a coach in the competitive and recreation programs. In 1993 she moved to the Burlington Gymnastics Club, and over the past thirty-one years has taken on many roles and responsibilities including:
- Recreation and competitive coach
- Recreation supervisor
- Level 1-4 coordinator
- ODP meet director
- Showcase and community event coordinator
- Promotions Manager
- Judge, ODP assessor and coach evaluator
Dawn is very well known and respected in the industry and is often looked upon as a subject matter expert. She is a believer in the power of life long learning and continues to seek new opportunities to grow. Dawn has been actively involved in regional and provincial committee such as:
- Gymnastics Ontario WTC coach representative and chairperson
- Gymnastics Ontario Gym for All Chairperson
- ODP committee head assessor and chairperson
- Gymnastics Ontario awards committee
- CanGym working group
- Gymnastics Ontario Gymnaestrada committee
Dawn demonstrates her lifelong commitment to the sport of gymnastics welcoming over 7500 gymnasts to the club annually.
