Oakville Gymnastics Club has increased membership in the 2022-2023 season by 17%. The club hosted a tumbling beginner coaches course, an acrobatic judge’s course and two invitational meets. They also hosted the 2023 Canadian Acrobatic Gymnastics the GymCan Acro Training Camp and Gymnastics Ontario Acrobatic Provincial Level Training Camp. Oakville’s athletes Theo Rots-Chan and Mila Di Salle appeared on Canada’s Got Talent which has raised the profile of acrobatics.
Oakville Gymnastics had 25 gymnasts participate in the tumbling showcase, 12 athletes on provincial teams, 18 athletes on the National Team and 18 athletes representing Canada at international meets. The club also produced 24 provincial champions and 16 national champions.
Oakville Gymnastics has created an in-house Safe Sport Standing Committee regarding Safe Sport in the club, establishing updated policies and procedures, club member engagement. Two TG coaches completed the non-violent communication course. Management Team staff also attended the York University—Women’s and Girls in Sport Conference.
The club also offers adult gymnastics programs and adaptive programs for persons with exceptionalities.
