Gymnastics Ontario is thrilled to announce the Ontario athletes headed to the final Women’s Artistic Team Selection Camp, June 25-29th in Gatineau, QC! (Competition dates: June 27th & June 29th.) These athletes are in the running to be a part of the team representing Canada at the Rio Olympics. Congratulations to:
- Maegan Chant, Waterdown, ON – World Class Gymnastics
- Kirsten Peterman, Cambridge, ON – Revolution Gymnastics
- Sabrina Gill, Oakville, ON – Manjak’s Gymnastics Club
- Megan Roberts, Toronto, ON – East York Gymnastics
Five athletes will be chosen to represent Canada in Rio. The announcement of these athletes, as well as the athlete from men’s artistic gymnastics, will be made on June 30th at the Gatineau Sports Centre as part of the final team announcement with the Canadian Olympic Committee.
“There were a lot of excellent performances at the Canadian Championships in Edmonton, which made the job of selecting these athletes much easier for our working group,” said Dave Brubaker, national team director for women’s artistic gymnastics at Gymnastics Canada. “The pool of athletes to choose from for our Olympic team is deeper than it has ever been, and I’m confident that we will be sending an exceptionally strong team to Rio.”
