Ontario Gymnasts Impress at L’International Gymnix Junior and Senior Cup

The 25th annual L’international Gymnix was held this past weekend, March 3-6 at the Complexe Sportif Claude-Robillard. Canada sent 3 full Senior teams: Canada Power, Canada Rams and Canada Max who finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.

 

 

Ontario gymnasts assisted each of the three teams: Kirsten Peterman (Revolution) competed as a member of Canada Power, Sydney Townsend (Revolution) as a member of Canada Rams and Meixi Semple (Gemini) as a member of Canada Max.

Individually, Semple was the highest ranking Ontarian finishing in 4th place followed by Peterman in 10th and Townsend in 25th. Semple also impressed in event finals, claiming the gold medal on beam.

 

 

Canada’s Junior team clinched third place assisted by Ontario’s Jade Chrobok (Gemini) and Ana Padurariu (Gemini). Individually, Padurariu placed 6th and Chrobok 9th in a field of 31 competitors. In event finals, Chrobok finished 5th on both vault and beam, while Padurariu placed 8th on bars and 2nd on floor.
