On the heels of the 2015 Trampoline and Tumbling World Championships, Odense, Denmark held the 24th World Age Group Competition December 3-6, 2015. Thirty-three athletes, 10 coaches, 5 judges and 6 support staff represented Canada at this year’s meet.
Ten of these athletes hail from Ontario: Alison Lang (Skyriders), Rachel Tam (Skyriders), Domenica Cirone (Skyriders), Keevin Madigan (Skyriders), Nathan Shuh (Skyriders), Megan Heck (Futures), Haven Swarts (Oakville), Devon Haimes (Burlington BGs), Damien Redillas (Futures) and Kiara MacLean (OAA). Three Ontario coaches also made this list: Nadia Bruno (Futures) was awarded Tumbling Team Coach, Denis Vachon (Burlington BGs, Tumbling) and Cameron Osborne (OAA, Double Mini).
Results of the Qualification round are as follows:
Double Mini Trampoline:
Kiara MacLean (Women Age 15-16 Category) ranked 33rd.
Synchronized Trampoline:
Domenica Cirone and Rachel Tam (Women Age 17-18) ranked 13th.
Individual Trampoline:
Women’s:
Age 17-18: Domenica ranked 4th and Rachel 3rd.
Age 15-16: Alison Lang placed 39th.
Men’s:
Age 17-18: Nathan Shuh placed 18th and Keevin Madigan 11th.
Tumbling:
Women’s:
Age 17-18: Devon Haimes placed 7th
Age 15-16: Haven Swarts and Megan Heck placed 10th and 28th respectively.
Men’s:
Age 15-16: Damien Redillas took the 16th spot.
