Salary: $20 – $24 / hour negotiable

Week: 30 to 40 hours

Primary Objective:

This position is located in Windsor, Ontario Canada. We are part of Canada’s southern peninsula surrounded by the Great Lakes and the Detroit river.  At Rose City Gymnastics we offer extensive recreational, and high-end competitive programs for all ages. We have been operating since 1976 and our top athletes have been medalists at the elite, national & provincial levels.

The position reports directly to the WAG program Director and/or the General Manager. The position is responsible for assisting with organizing, implementing, and communicating activities in the WAG program while working with the assistance of the WAG Program Director, TAG Program Director and Recreational Program Director. The WAG Assistant Director is also responsible for coaching the assigned groups to provide a learning environment for all athletes and prepare them for (future) competition. The role is accountable for working within the club’s vision, mission, policies, procedures and goals set forth by the Management Team. This position will also be responsible for updating and ensuring all employees and equipment meets safety standards set forth by RCG.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Coach WAG program as determined by the WAG Program Director and the General Manager
  • Organize class groups and structures
  • Work collaboratively with coaches by delegating planning, communication, and coaching responsibilities and assign WAG coaches work schedules and coaching rotations
  • Develops and ensures the effective delivery of short and long term goals
  • Assist WAG coaching development and coaching skills
  • Develop, adhere and assist with managing program budget
  • Assist in actively recruiting and developing new athletes and coaches
  • Communicate with parents on class structures and changes, child’s progress, competition information and any concerns that may arise
  • Assist in providing mentorship opportunities for coaches under supervision
  • Update and inform administration of any change in athlete status
  • Ensure absences are approved and coverage is arranged
  • Ensure WAG coaches absences are approved and coverage is arranged
  • Supervise athletes in a safe and effective manner
  • Keep accurate attendance records
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Be up to date on Employee Handbook and changes made to it
  • Participate in a coaching or technical role in demonstrations, internal club events and competitions as assigned
  • Adhere to the code of conduct for coaches and athletes
  • Ability to travel for competition and other events
  • Attend all coach meetings and club events as required
  • Adhere to privacy of information act
  • Complete all accident reports
  • Complete bi-monthly equipment safety inspections and communicate results
  • Assist with creating and updating annual equipment purchases needed
  • Work collaboratively with all staff maintaining a professional attitude at all times
  • Any other duties assigned by the WAG Program Director and/or the General Manager



  • NCCP competitive 2/level 3 or equivalent certified
  • First aid and CPR certified
  • 10 years coaching experience with focus on Beam and Floor
  • Provincial level coaching experience
  • Gymnastics club assistant management experience
  • Excellent understanding of the FIG code of points
