Terra, a former competitive athlete, currently a Level 3 WAG coach and Level 2 Trampoline coach is both competitive director and women’s head coach at GymZone/Sudbury Laurels. She has produced numerous athletes at provincial and national levels.
Terra is constantly assessing our competitive team’s performance on an event to event basis by vigorously analyzing scores and judge’s feedback from competitions to see where GymZone/Sudbury Laurels can improve as a club. She has also revamped our athlete’s abilities testing to ensure that we are constantly improving the strength and conditioning of each individual athlete in our programs. To achieve this, Terra has recruited the expertise of Dave Arnold to help increase the technical level of our athletes and help them perfect their higher level skills.
Terra holds monthly coaches meetings where she shares her knowledge on what has worked the best for her and what has not worked as well. This can range from skill development drills, conditioning, and to shoulder flexibility drills. Terra also shares her knowledge and expertise with other northern-based clubs to help elevate their gymnastics. Terra has also partnered with other sporting organizations this year to offer clinics to improve safe strength training, and strong skill fundamentals.
Terra has been dedicated to the sport of gymnastics and a coach for a total of 21 years. Over the years, Terra has fulfilled many different leadership, coaching and mentor roles. Since starting with GymZone/Sudbury Laurels 12 years ago, Terra has excelled in the role of Head WAG competitive coach, T & T head coach, and has been the competitive director and WAG head coach for the last eight years.
Congratulations!
